Know Your Lingo was born from the shared vision of two mothers in Houston, Texas, eager to pass on their mother tongue to their children while preserving the rich tapestry of Indian culture and traditions. Recognizing the inherent connection between language and cultural heritage, they embarked on a journey to ensure that the essence of Indian identity thrives in the younger generation.
As their children expressed interest in learning Hindi, the mothers explored various avenues, including Rosetta Stone, YouTube videos, local temples, and Hindi lessons from neighborhood aunties. However, they discovered a lack of engagement in the curriculum, which failed to highlight the richness of Indian culture and traditions.
In light of these challenges, the mothers united their efforts to establish a distinctive Indian language-learning platform. Their joint initiative was driven by the shared goal of delivering a comprehensive and engaging curriculum. Their aim was precise: to empower Indian children living abroad with the tools to confidently connect with their mother tongue, embrace their culture, and honor their traditions globally. The result of this collaborative endeavor is a one-of-a-kind platform designed to bridge the gap and foster a solid and lasting connection between young learners and India's rich linguistic and cultural heritage.
